First Flight as a Family
Flying to KGED for my birthday lunch

Happy Birthday to Me!#
Since buying 29Whiskey in late September, the majority of my flying has been training. First, I had to get my high-performance endorsement and log 10 hours with a CFI to make my insurance company happy. Since then, it's been mostly foggles-on flying while working on my instrument rating. Jaime and I did sneak away to Slatington Airport (69N) on Veteran's Day while the kids were in school for a walk along the Lehigh River and her first flight in our new plane. When she asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, I knew it was time to put our family hauler to use. We all loaded into 29Whiskey and set off to Delaware Coastal Airport (KGED) for lunch at Arena's.
Good Food, Good Flight#
Clear skies, smooth air and mild temperatures made for a perfect test run in our new time machine. The kids were excited to all fly together for the first time. Arena's at the Airport has excellent food with a great view of the runways and plenty of parking. I also got to test out the new GoPro Max 360 camera Jaime got me for my birthday. On the return trip, we flew east to Rehoboth Beach, DE where Jaime's parents have a vacation home, then followed the coast up the Delaware Bay back to New Garden. It was a great first flight as a family and an awesome birthday for the captain! I'm looking forward to stretching our legs more in the coming year and making tons of memories in 29Whiskey!
